What is CBAM?
The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is an EU regulation that requires importers to report the embedded carbon emissions of products such as iron, steel, and aluminum starting from October 1, 2023. From January 1, 2026, carbon fees will also apply.
