253MA (UNS S30815) is a heat-resistant austenitic stainless steel designed for applications requiring high creep strength and good corrosion resistance. Its operating temperature range is 850~1100 °C.
The chemical composition of 253MA is balanced, which makes the steel has the most suitable comprehensive performance in the temperature range of 850°C-1100°C, extremely high oxidation resistance, oxidation temperature up to 1150°C, and extremely high creep resistance. Capability and creep rupture strength; excellent resistance to high temperature corrosion and brush corrosion resistance in most gaseous media; high yield strength and tensile strength at high temperatures; good formability and weldability , and enough machinability.
In addition to the alloying elements chromium and nickel, the 253MA stainless steel also contains a small amount of rare earth metals, thereby significantly improving its antioxidant capacity. Nitrogen is added to improve the creep properties and make this steel completely austenite. Although the chromium and nickel contents are relatively low, such stainless steels have in many cases the same high temperature properties as highly alloyed alloy steels and nickel base alloys.
